David Roberts, a Scottish painter, created a lithograph titled “View from under the portico of the Temple of Dendera” in 1848. The lithograph depicts the Typhonaeum, a temple located in Dendera, Egypt. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Hathor and is known for its astronomical ceiling, which is considered one of the best-preserved astronomical ceilings in the world. The lithograph is part of the Royal Academy of Arts collection in London.

About the Artist
David Roberts was a Scottish painter born on October 24, 1796, in Stockbridge near Edinburgh, Scotland, and died on November 25, 1864, in London, England. He is especially known for his detailed lithograph prints of Egypt and the Near East that he produced from sketches he made during long tours of the region (1838–1840). He was elected as a Royal Academician in 1841.
