“Acorn” is a wallpaper pattern designed by William Morris in 1879. The design features a pattern of acorns, oak leaves and flowers. The pattern was block printed on paper. The back of the wallpaper is inscribed in ink with the title, number, and price. The design is part of a pattern book containing 25 Morris & Co. patterns from 1862-81. The pattern features the signature elements of William Morris’s designs, with delicate flowers interspersed with winding leaves and branches. It is one of Morris’s most reproduced designs and has been through several re-inventions since its initial design. The “Acorn” pattern is housed in several major art galleries and museums, including the V&A in London.
