David Roberts, a Scottish painter, created a lithograph titled “Pyramids of Gezeeh [Giza], from the Nile” in 1838-1840. The lithograph depicts the Pyramids of Giza, located in Giza, Egypt. The Pyramids of Giza are the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex and are considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The lithograph is part of the Royal Academy of Arts collection in London

About the Artist
David Roberts was a Scottish painter born on October 24, 1796, in Stockbridge near Edinburgh, Scotland, and died on November 25, 1864, in London, England. He is especially known for his detailed lithograph prints of Egypt and the Near East that he produced from sketches he made during long tours of the region (1838–1840). He was elected as a Royal Academician in 1841.
